Description

Window catch for sash window porthole catch bronze antique 58mm. A window catch made of solid brass with a bronze antique finish. These window latches are mainly used on traditional sash windows. This toggle lock is secured by tightening the tapered nut in the tapered stop. This type of classic sash window fastener used to be widely used especially in the United Kingdom.

The stop is mounted on the window and the clasp with spring bolt is mounted on the windowsill or frame. When at rest, the spring bolt is straight up and can be pulled forward. If mounted at right angles, the spring bolt will have to be pushed correctly into position to close it. In addition, these porthole locks can also be used on, for example, a sliding door which must be able to be locked from the inside for a longer period of time.

Dimensions of the window catch for sliding window porthole catch bronze antique 58mm

The plate of spring bolt is 58mm x 21mm. Total height of spring bolt is 74mm. In angled position, the bottom of the stop should be mounted at least 26mm above the window sill on the window. If the spring bolt is mounted in the same plane as the stop, then it can be mounted with at least 4mm in between (total 25mm from the bottom of the mounting plate of the spring bolt). The stop is 58mm wide and 20mm high. For a standard sliding window, two closures per window are recommended. The fastener for sliding windows is supplied with the corresponding screws.
